Neil Featherby has
worked with and advised many elite and
professional sportsmen and women from athletics to
boxing and professional football. However
and by the same token, he has also worked
with people of all abilities and ages for
which he says. it is sometimes those at the
lower end of the spectrum where he gets the
most satisfaction.
Neil’s own sporting background is in
athletics having competed in Europe, Asia
and America whilst representing England and
Great Britain on numerous occasions at the
marathon and ultra marathon distance of
100Km, most notably at the World and
European Cups during 1993 and 1994.
His career as a coach and personal
trainer/conditioner goes back to his time
whilst working as a Sports Consultant for
Bupa in Norwich, which opened the door for
him to work with many World class sportsmen
and women including Norwich City’s first
team squad during season 1992/93 where they
finished 3rd in that season’s Premiership.
However he has had many other high spots
which include working with Paul Ingle who
went on to win the IBF and IBO World
Featherweight Titles at The Madison Square
Garden New York, Herbie Hide who held the
WBO World Heavyweight Title and business
partners Jon Thaxton the current European Lightweight
Boxing
Champion and footballer Danny Mills who
played for England at the 2002 World Cup in
Japan.
Neil is meticulous when it comes to
designing training schedules which he says
has to be specific for each individual,
taking many things into consideration before
actually setting out on a training plan. He
will work tirelessly for each client
providing they have the desire and
determination to succeed and applies one
simple principle to everything he does and
that is “You get out of life what you put
in”.
